About Me

“Worlds stand or fall on your answer”

Elinor Fuchs

I grew up in southern California, about an hour outside of Los Angeles. It was a best-of-both-worlds kind of situation; I lived in a suburb, but I could spend a day in LA if I ever wanted to. Growing up so close to the city afforded me opportunities I wouldn’t have had otherwise, one of which was my introduction to the world of film production.

When I was eleven, I joined Camp RED, a film camp in LA where kids could write, act in, film, and edit their own shorts with professional-grade equipment. Since that summer ten years ago, I’ve been slowly finding my way back into the world of film and theatre arts.

I was introduced to the theatre industry in high school, where I began working as a technician. I started as a member of my school’s set construction crew and over the course of four years, worked my way up to Student Technical Director.

In college, I started assistant stage managing in addition to building sets and I ended up ASMing for two main stage productions. Then, I found my way into the writer’s room and I have not looked back since.

In the three years that I’ve been writing, I’ve had three of my original plays staged in front of an audience and I’ve worked on a devised show as a writer, designer, and director. I’ve written a full length screenplay and been on a team of writers for a college-age sitcom. I have had two fiction works published in literary magazines and I am currently working on the screenplay for a limited comedy series.

The bottom line is, I just love art. I love creating it, I love consuming it, and I love contending with it. It is one of the most culturally significant and valuable fields we have, it is a powerful tool that keeps us compassionate, and sane, and human. I am in awe of the power art has, and everyday, I let that power inform whatever it is that I create.
